A couple of weeks before Christmas we put a post out “Your Opinion Counts”, we wanted to make sure that what we bring to our subscribers is what they WANT.
We were busy making plans (to get stuck into after a break for the festive period); to bring more to our subscribers. The idea was to organise our content into different aspects of ‘A Wild Spirituality’.
Animism/Shamanism
Wild Medicinal Plants
Folklore/Mythology
We wanted to make sure that we got the balance right, and give you lot more of the content that you want to see. Out of 280 views we had 25 votes (all you had to do was tick a box), so the exercise wasn’t as enlightening as hoped for - hmpf. We were still excited to crack on with it.
THEN; life happened. Or rather; the gremlins of all things technical came out to play with us.
Our website stopped playing ball with everyone; it refused to load and just ‘timed out’ every time. We couldn’t fix it because it we couldn’t get in to the ‘back end’, it also timed us out. A lot of help from our technical support and half a re-build later, we are fixed.
Two of our major platforms stopped playing nicely with each other - Substack/Stripe. They are still refusing to play.
(Info for or our paid subscribers -
If you subscribe monthly; Substack should have stopped collecting your subscription fee - if it hasn’t please let us know, because we are not getting it.
If you subscribe annually; you won’t lose out, once fixed we will extend your subscription so that you still get a full 12 months of content.)
Aargghh. We are, however, still alive out here.
Life does throw these curved balls at you. You can choose to give up and pack it all in (not our style). Or you can duck (to try and avoid the worst) and then just pick your metaphor ‘go with the flow/roll with the punches’; accept the situation without getting angry or frustrated, and deal with it.
Cursing Can Actually Be Good for Your Health
Experts say using curse words can help us build emotional resilience and cope with situations in which we feel that we have no control.
“The best health benefits include increased circulation, elevated endorphin, and serotonin levels, and an overall sense of calm, control, and well-being.” (Psych Central)
This is definitely true; a lot of expletives have been uttered, we have even invented some new ones. Have we reached the overall sense of calm, control, and well-being? Hmm; maybe, maybe not.
We are still working on it.
